ChatGPT now does tasks for you using your voice
ChatGPT's mobile app is getting smarter. Paying users can now use voice commands to ask the app to complete work tasks automatically.
ChatGPT — the popular AI chatbot made by OpenAI — is rolling out a new feature on its mobile app. Starting now, users who pay for ChatGPT Plus or ChatGPT Pro can use a new section called the "Work tab" to complete tasks by voice.
Here's what this means in practice: instead of typing out instructions, you can simply speak to your phone and ask ChatGPT to handle work tasks for you. Think of it like having an assistant who listens to your voice commands and gets things done. This uses what's called "agentic" features — basically, AI that can take action and complete tasks on its own, rather than just answering questions.
Why should you care? If you're paying for ChatGPT Plus or Pro, this feature makes the app more convenient for busy moments. You don't need to type — you can just talk. It's particularly useful for people juggling multiple tasks who want AI to help them stay organized and productive without extra effort.
Right now, this feature is only available to paying subscribers. Free ChatGPT users don't have access to the Work tab yet. As AI tools keep evolving, features like these are becoming standard ways to interact with technology — through conversation and voice, rather than clicking through menus.
