Meta's Muse AI can now video chat and use your email
Meta is rolling out major updates to Muse, its AI assistant. You'll soon be able to video call your AI helper and let it handle your emails directly.
Meta is making its Muse AI agent — a digital helper that uses artificial intelligence to accomplish tasks for you — significantly more powerful and easier to use.
Starting soon, Muse will have its own email address. This means the AI agent can send and receive emails on your behalf, helping you manage your inbox or draft messages without you having to type them yourself. You'll also be able to communicate directly with Muse through email if you prefer that to chatting through an app.
But there's more. Meta is adding video calling to Muse, so you won't just be limited to typing messages anymore. Instead of only using a chat box to talk with your AI assistant, you'll soon be able to have face-to-face video conversations with it — similar to how you'd video call a friend. The company is also upgrading the Mac app version of Muse (the software for Apple computers) so that Muse can actually use your computer on your behalf, clicking buttons and entering information just like you would.
These updates show Meta is betting big that AI agents — software that can act independently to complete tasks — will become a normal part of how we work and communicate. By making Muse more versatile and adding more natural ways to interact with it, Meta is hoping people will rely on it for more of their daily tasks.
