Claude, an AI assistant you can chat with (similar to ChatGPT), is getting two new features today: Docs and Slides. This means you can now ask Claude to help you write a document or build a presentation, and it will create one right there in the conversation. You can then download it, make changes to it yourself, and share it with others — just like you would with Google Docs or Microsoft PowerPoint.

The company behind Claude, called Anthropic, is also making things simpler. They're combining all of Claude's different tools — like regular chat, design features, and productivity helpers — into one single interface. Think of it like having one unified workspace instead of jumping between separate apps. Before, you had to switch between different versions of Claude depending on what you wanted to do. Now, no matter which task you're working on, all the tools are available from any conversation.

This is Claude's direct answer to Google's Gemini (Google's own AI assistant), which already has document and presentation features built in. By adding these tools, Claude is trying to become a more complete AI assistant for everyday work — not just for answering questions, but for actually creating the files and documents you need. If you use Claude for work or school, this means you can do more without switching to other apps.
